i am proud of myself…not only did i tackle unpacking like 10 boxes today, i put up our black shelves all by myself! found the studs, drilled, and balanced like a pro. gracie was happy once i finally put her couch back into place.

gracie and the shelves

i got a lot accomplished this weekend…it feels good. the house took a major leap towards feeling more lived in…it’s amazing what putting up pictures and setting out trinkets will do. also, we took the major step and bought the tv. eeck! unfortunately, the mounts they had in stock at costco did not support the giantness of our tv (i am honestly a bit embarrassed that it might be too big for our little space and little lives, but wil assures me that it’s not.), so it’s still still in it’s plastic in front of the fireplace. oh well…not too much of a stress as it give wil more time to play around with wiring the rest of the speakers.

also, the home depot people came out a couple days ago and did an in-home meeting in our kitchen to verify what to order and what the install might be like. we’ll meet with them at the store on thursday to see our final price (see what we need to cut because i just know it will probably have grown again since last), and sign off on everything.

our house is becoming more of a home. how nice!

oh, and i finally saw harry potter last night. woohoo!!! (and i am in the middle of the new book…finally!)

wow. i LOVE the shelves like that. very cool. gracie adds such “art” to the room too. :) it’s SO fun to decorate the house and yes….it IS amazing how home-y it starts to feel…..i can’t WAIT to see the kitchen when it’s done.
