1.   I went in to work this morning at 2am to brew some coffee for a donation.  WSMV (nashville’s nbc affiliate) does a ‘cool schools’ promotion every friday during the morning news.  They highlight a school in the Nashville area that is doing unique things to better their educational programs and their communities.  This week, they chose Nashville Christian School, a school that is right down the road from my store.  One of the faculty members there sent me an email asking us to be involved.  I offered to set them up with some coffee for the students, faculty and film crew for their early morning… the catch: they start shooting at 330am!  So I went in extra early to get it all taken care of for them.  I always enjoy it when I feel like I can help our community out, even if it is just by donating some brewed coffee.  I watched them on the morning show and by the energy level in that gym… I would have to assume they drank all the coffee I supplied. =)

2.   After the early morning brew, i promptly came back home and went to bed!  I slept until 11am which rounded out to a good 6.5 hours or so… so I feel well rested.

3.   Today, it is 61 degrees outside so I was able to enjoy one of my favorite summer beverages… Iced black coffee. yum!

4.   I went to Kroger today and got some essentials to finish out our grocery shopping for the month.  I got a gallon of milk, 2 boxes of cereal, some tortilla chips, 2 heads of brocolli, 3 green bell peppers, and some deodorant.  All for under 15 bucks!!  Which keeps us under our grocery budget for the month of January!

5.   The windows are open in the house due to the warm weather… it smells so good!

6.   My faith in our city is restored.  We voted against an ‘English Only’ amendment yesterday that would’ve eliminated ALL possibilities of governmental processes and paperwork to take place in languages other than English.  If this was voted into action, we would’ve been the first major city in the United States to take this kind of step against non-english speaking immigrants, foreign students, transitional immigrants, and the melting pot that is our country.

7.   We’ve been trying to work out a mortgage payment issue we’ve had for the last 2 months with no luck, but I was able to take care of it today.  woot.

8.   Our stadium seating from our LOST party is still up and I’m going to watch some Band of Brothers for the rest of the day.

I’m so glad you voted no! And that it passed! And that you are fiscally responsible! And that you like fresh air!

Also, I miss black tea. And Tripoly is my New Favorite Game. And no one here has ever heard about it. Perhaps we could all do another visit and play together and no one will get the plague?
