alone

at about 4 am this morning i took wil to the airport. wil felt called to be with his dad and that side of the family right now, so he left to go to napa till wednesday. i totally agree with him going, and although i already miss him (i know i haven’t spent any longer than an average day of work away at this point, but just knowing he’s across the country makes me miss him) i know his presence will be comforting to those around him.

it’s just me and the girls! i have a few movies to watch, and i’m going to try and have dinner with a friend here and there to make the nights a little less quiet.

work today was crazy (after a crazy friday; when will it end?!?) with an unexpected deadline of getting a lot of information together by the afternoon, and tomorrow will be no less insane with an all day photo shoot. lots of running around, getting flowers, moving around furniture and accessories, etc is upon me. i am 50% looking forward to the break from the norm, and 50% dreading it because it’s always exhausting and stressful at the moment. the pictures will be great, and i’ll be sure to keep ya’ll posted when we get them on our site.

that’s about it on our end. oh, and valentines was really nice. we’re not big valentines people…we don’t do gifts, and we have mutually decided roses are overrated and over priced (i’d much rather get a big bunch of daisies or something at a random time), and our date always ends up being something really low key because neither of us plan enough in advance or have the desire to spend a lot of money. i promise we’re not total downers, but i just figure, we have the rest of our lives to make more money and treat ourselves to luxurious things like fancy dinners and weekends away.

i think what made the day so special for me was just doing little things together all day. no cleaning, or laundry…we worked out together, saw people get sung to by a quartet at starbucks, grocery shopped (i think we are one in a million couples who truly enjoy grocery shopping together- we can both go in to store in a bad mood, and come out happy together), watched people kiss dead fish for free lobster tails, then cooked together all afternoon/evening, and ended the night with a movie. (the wrestler…another oscar nom…meh. not highly recommended)
