i have a new endeavor. it’s nothing much, it just really bothers me that i haven’t been taking and posting pictures lately.
wil inspired me last night…he made some braised beef short ribs last night (thanks leila!), and for being uneducated (professionally, i mean), his presentation was really nice…a great layering of mashed potatos, the ribs, and dark sauce and then a light horse radish sauce. i wished i had photographed it, and so i decided, i want to start photographing wil’s creations just whenever we have yummy or pretty (hopefully both!) meals. and maybe here or there he’ll write about them, or if it’s a process, we’ll take some step by step shots.
i was also subconciously inspired by this blog, that i found very randomly, which ended up the author was from bellingham and friends with dena’s good friends. why is it that the internet makes this world seem huge and tiny at the same time? this won’t be totally turning into a food blog, because ava and gracie would have a fit not being mentioned anymore, but a good outlet for me to take pictures with my favorite lens, and for wil to show off his creations (or maybe what he is learning while in class).
tonight, was an incredibly simple meal…wil made risotto again (we had it a few days ago), just with some lemon and fresh chives and parsley, along with some quick saute’d chicken tenderloins. very simple tastes, but we’ve got lots of snacking ahead at a friends house, so it served as a good base for food to come.

unfortunately, we realized that right after starting this, we’ll have a long hiatus…as wil will be leaving for asheville, and then even after i join him we’ll be eating for free at the campus dining hall till august, and then we are on the road. so hopefully it will continue as his school starts and progresses!
bon appetit!
