last weekend, kris and i had the chance to cater another event for her sister.  she was throwing a friend a bridal shower and wanted us to plan a menu that was seasonal and elegant, but simple.  we settled on hors d’oeuvre style food and came up with a mix of foods that was interesting, flavorful, vibrant in color and satiating.  i couldn’t have done it without kris’ help! and the food… minus a mild dessert-astrophe, was a smashing success.

bridal shower spread

creme fraiche, pickled radish, yellow current tomato

bridal shower

fried green tomato, slow-roasted pork shoulder, home-made balsamic mustard barbecue sauce

bridal shower

herb cracker, sweet mascarpone cheese, local oregon peach, fleur de sel

bridal shower

black pepper crostini, roasted sweet corn puree, fiery hatch pepper salsa

bridal shower

cherry tomato, feta and thyme tartlet

bridal shower

cold-poached peruvian potato, seared sirloin, carrot green and walnut pesto

Pics are beautiful…and YES…they were yummy even “after” the party. I’m so glad I got to taste!!! Thanks for saving me some. I can’t decide if my fav were the potato ones or the corn puree or the tomato-feta tart or maybe even the pork w/ bbq sauce. WOW…all so good. And the dessert was awesome the next day….we enjoyed it!!! XOXO Most unusual and yummy was carrot top pesto…hhhhmmmm
