something i have to keep coming back to, is time management. i am not even juggling kids yet, and i still have moments where i feel quite scatterbrained, as i vented about a few weeks back.
jessi, over at naptime diaries has a ‘one percent change’ phrase that intertwines in and out of her blog & personal life, and the concept caught my attention. they are tiny (yet often still costly) changes that are easy to sustain, but add up over time (to paraphrase her words). how many of us set goals and we can’t even keep them going for one week?
i’m hoping to maybe do something here and there that i can actually stick with, that will help me out in the long run. and the first thing is really little.
sitting down for less than 10 minutes each day to make notes in a planner for the upcoming few days.
wil and i had a great last few days…he had the time off work and we played the whole time. working on the trailer together, hanging on the front lawn in the sun, buying flats of streetside strawberries and preserving them, casual dinner in with friends, fancy dinner out, etc. but wednesday (our ‘monday’), i felt like i was starting at square one on trying to figure out how to be productive this week. i have the luxury of not working at a normal 9-5 job and a lot of time on my hands at home. but i’m also trying to creatively bring in income to our household.
i also forsee a few things on my plate over the next few weeks that i’ll hopefully get to share with you in the future, that really needs my attention in planning.
if i just sit down a few moments every day and mentally forecast a few lists, priorities, and schedules over the next couple days, i think over time, it will drastically affect my efficiency, as well as not make me feel like a bum wasting time. i know it’s early, but just since starting it a couple days ago, i have been so much more productive! made some headway on some future bags, as well as a new drawing or two up in the shop. take a peek!
what’s a small change in your life that over time could make you happier and or healthier? let me know, or hop over to her site and join in.

I love this post as I can absolutely relate. I make my own schedule and work at home and often find myself a little bit amiss–not accomplishing the things I’d like to accomplish, etc. One thing I’m trying, which is so tiny and yet so big, is just going to bed at a set time. If I dont’ force myself to do it I can easily stay up until 2 or 3 or more working on projects and then the next day gets off to a late start and the pattern is repeated. So that’s something I’m working on bit by bit.
